Researching with, and as, an Undergraduate Student

Abstract

In this talk, I use the metaphor of a university course (and its syllabus) to motivate aspects of effective mentorship. In particular, we’ll focus on selecting projects for undergraduate research, on-boarding research assistants, and helping your undergraduates maintain focus and motivation throughout the semester.
